Eight-Member Dacoit Gang Busted In Jagtial

KARIMNAGAR:�Police arrested an eight member dacoity gang in Jagtial district on Wednesday, seizing gold worth ₹50,000; ₹1 lakh in cash; two motorcycles; two cars; and eight mobile phones.

According to superintendent of police Ashok Kumar, the arrested suspects, T. Srikanth, Ch. Mallesh, P. Raju, U. Satish, E. Mohan Reddy, A. Raju, B. Murali, and B. Madhu, are all residents of Jagtial district.

The gang, led by prime accused T. Srikanth, reportedly attacked Indoori Shankaraiah of Kalleda village on July 22 at around 2 pm as he rode his two wheeler to Jagtial. They assaulted him, stole his gold, and forced him to transfer ₹1 lakh via PhonePe. They then threatened him in the Sarangapur forest and coerced him into selling his mother’s necklace for additional money.

After receiving Shankaraiah’s complaint, Jagtial Town Inspector P. Karunakar registered a case, and DSP Raghu Chander supervised the investigation. Police apprehended the eight suspects in Jagtial town while they were dividing the stolen proceeds in a car.

SP Ashok Kumar commended the team for cracking the case within 24 hours and awarded them cash rewards for their efforts.
