Nellore:A massive cryogenic liquid nitrogen storage tank is turning heads along National Highway 16 between Chennai and Nellore as it makes its way from Sri City to Krishnapatnam Port. The super-sized tank, measuring 47 metres in length, 6 metres in diameter, and weighing 214 tonnes, is being transported on a 192-wheeled multi-axle trailer.

Manufactured by Sri City-based VRV Asia Pacific Pvt. Ltd.—a wholly owned subsidiary of Chart Industries, USA—the tank has a capacity of 735 kilolitres and is being exported to Air Liquide in Qatar. Air Liquide is a global leader in industrial gases and services, with operations in over 75 countries and clients across sectors such as healthcare, energy, and aerospace.

According to the trailer operator, the tank began its journey on July 9 and is expected to take nearly a week to cover the short 120-kilometre distance due to its size and logistical complexity.

VRV Asia Pacific has established itself as a reliable partner for high-profile clients, including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and a private aerospace company in the United States.
