Global Experts Explore AI and Diagnostics at Centurion University Healthcare Conference

Visakhapatnam: Centurion University has launched its three-day international conference, “Innovations in Healthcare: Smart and Advanced Applications (IHCSAA),” spotlighting emerging medical technologies.

Inaugurating the event, chancellor Prof. G.S.N. Raju emphasised the importance of early detection through advanced diagnostics and highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping future healthcare solutions. He noted that the synergy between engineering and medicine is leading to smarter tools, particularly relevant for students in paramedical and engineering programmes.

Vice-chancellor Prof. Prashanta Kumar Mohanty underscored the value such platforms offer to researchers and students. Both leaders jointly unveiled the conference souvenir and a book titled Innovations in Healthcare.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr Naveen Kumar Challa from Qassim University, Saudi Arabia, raised concerns over diabetes trends, revealing that 13% of the global population is affected, with 7% experiencing vision loss due to diabetic retinopathy. He stressed the urgency of early diagnosis to prevent blindness.

Technical sessions featured experts including Dr P. Apparao (AMC) and Rajendra Mishra (Modern Test Centre), who shared insights on smart diagnostics. Students from Centurion, Vignan, GITAM, Ramachandra Engineering College, and Mohan Babu University actively participated. Attendees included Registrar Dr Pallavi, Dean Dr Vijay Babu, Dr Naga, and Dr Nuka Raju.
