Hyderabad: At least 15 students of the Delhi Public School were unhurt after the school bus in which they were travelling in caught fire in Kistareddypet of Ameenpur on Thursday
The mishap took place when the bus was carrying students to the school. Just minutes before reaching the destination, the driver noticed a burning smell emanating from the engine, police said.
The driver parked the vehicle on the roadside and helped the students deboard with the help of the bus assistant and passers-by. Flames took over the bus moments later. There were no casualties.
Passersby called the police and the fire brigade. The bus was damaged by the fire by the time help arrived. Police suspected that a mechanical issue might have caused for mishap and investigations have commenced.
