
Hyderabad:The Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing the phone-tapping case of the BRS government tenure is likely to file a petition before the apex court seeking directions to then-SIB chief T. Prabhakar Rao to cooperate with the investigation, and consider cancelling relief granted to the accused so that it could take him into custody.
Following apex court directions earlier, Prabhakar Rao had returned to Hyderabad from the US and appeared before the SIT for questioning. Prabhakar Rao is understood to have refused to cooperate with the investigation team, and not revealing details in connection with the phone-tapping case.
The SIT had recently seized his phone and laptop for forensic verification. The SIT officials found that 613 profiles were created including that of then-TPCC president and incumbent Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his family members, political leaders, film actors, judges and journalists by intercepting their mobile phones.
Meanwhile, SIT officials are likely to record statements of the Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s staff and several MLAs on Friday at the Jubilee Hills police station in connection with the phone tapping case. So far, the SIT officers have recorded the statements of more than 235 persons including political leaders after the then-SIB officers intercepted their mobile phones when the BRS was in power.
Newborn’s Body Found in NIMS Drainage
Hyderabad:An unidentified person threw a newborn into the drainage of the women’s washroom in Nizam institute of medical sciences (NIMS).
The incident is believed to have occurred a few days ago, and came to light on Thursday after sanitation staff noticed water being blocked in the pipe.
Upon information of the blockage, the sanitation workers started cleaning the pipes and noticed a baby stuck inside the pipe.
They summoned additional staff and removed the baby’s body. According to sources, the police were informed by the Nims hospital staff and started an inquiry by collecting CCTV footage to identify those how had gone to the washroom with a baby.
