Thousands Flock to Bara Shaheed Dargah for Rottela Panduga

Nellore:�The historic Bara Shaheed Dargah in Nellore witnessed a massive influx of devotees on Sunday, as the annual Rottela Panduga commenced amid great fervour.

Pilgrims from Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, and several distant regions gathered to participate in the revered tradition of exchanging rotis at the Nellore tank, popular as the Swarnala Cheruvu.

Police maintained order amidst the heavy rush. The Command Control Room that they opened reunited missing children, elderly individuals and women with their families through continuous public announcements.

Round-the-clock medical services have been set up by both the government and private hospitals, including the Red Cross, at the venue for providing emergency care.

Municipal sanitation workers worked tirelessly to maintain cleanliness across the Dargah premises, particularly around the Swarnala Cheruvu Ghat, public restrooms, and bathing areas. They earned praise from the public for ensuring hygienic despite the heavy crowds.

Commissioner Y.O. Nandan continued reviewing all key arrangements for the famous Rottela Panduga, including sanitation, installation of bio-toilets, parking provisions and establishment of zone-wise help desks. He underlined that all required facilities will be ensured for devotees during the festival.

“To facilitate smooth and disciplined offering of vows and symbolic exchange of rotis, we have streamlined all logistical and safety arrangements at the Dargah,” Nandan affirmed.
