VIJAYAWADA: Three modern radiation machines will soon be installed at government hospitals in Kakinada, Guntur, and Kadapa districts at an estimated cost of ₹48 crore.
Union minister of state for rural development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar and Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish Babu met Union minister for petroleum and natural gas Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi on Wednesday. They discussed the rising cancer burden in Andhra Pradesh and sought financial assistance from ONGC under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Following the discussion, ONGC agreed to fund three radiation machines, each costing ₹16 crore. These machines will aid in early detection of cancer and offer radiation therapy to patients.
Speaking on the occasion, Sana Satish Babu expressed gratitude to the two Union ministers. “This support is not just technical aid, but a source of hope for cancer patients seeking treatment and recovery,” he said.
